Hey Builders,

We’re excited to announce that a brand new update for Dumb Ways to Build is coming on October 25 PDT!

The 8 Player Lobbies & Costumes Update, is dialing up the chaos and doubling the mayhem, as you will be able to  gather your friends and form a crew of up to 8 players in a single lobby. Plus, to get into the spirit of the spooky season, we’re introducing full body cosmetics. So, if you don’t have a Halloween costume, we’ve got you covered!

Read on for a sneak peak of what you’ll find in Update 4.0!

8 PLAYER LOBBIES

You asked, and we delivered! We’ve heard your requests for larger crews, and we can’t wait to bring you a beta version of 8 Player Lobbies in the upcoming update. If you thought managing a construction crew of 4 was chaotic, expanding to a crew of 8 will test your coordination skills and teamwork like never before.

While Dumb Ways to Build was originally developed and balanced around a 4-player co-op experience, we couldn’t pass up the chance to amp up the mayhem and push your crew to the limit. Please do keep in mind that this feature is currently in Beta, so we are still continuing to optimize server performance, and you may encounter some other unexpected issues. Continue to report any bugs you encounter to our team and we will get onto the job!

COSTUME CALAMITY

Go Trick or Building with your crew with brand new costumes! The new ‘Costumes’ feature completely transforms your Bean’s look, while still letting you layer your favourite accessories on top. You’ll even notice a couple of familiar faces, or lack thereof…

To get you into the spirit, the Skeleton Costume will be instantly available for all players. But are you looking for something a little wackier? You can unlock the rest of the new costumes by completing all the Certifications for each Crisis Job:

  • Hotel Hapless: Unlocks the Hapless Costume, a half eaten Bean who thought it would be a good idea to poke a stick at a grizzly bear, complete with voice reactive blood spurts.

  • Beach Breach: Unlocks the Buff Bean Costume, because who wouldn’t want to flex their muscles as a swole Bean in trunks?!

  • Drain Strain: Unlocks the Doomed Costume. After the unfortunate mistake of scratching a drug dealer's brand new ride, this Bean landed himself in a trash bag. This costume also includes a ‘Realism’ mode… but we’ll let you discover what that does for yourself!

  • Crane Climb: Unlocks the Alien Costume, straight from Beanulon Prime! This bug eyed extraterrestrial tries its best to blend in, but its funky head shape and uniquely colored blood instantly blows its cover.

Plus, with extra accessories like Vampire Teeth and a Witches Hat, we cannot wait to see all of the hilarious costumes you’ll create!

With more free content planned and a new Crisis Job around the corner, you won’t want to miss out on the latest news! So, please subscribe to our newsletter for the latest updates and join our community of builders on the official Discord.

Happy building!
